Westwood Shores Waterfront Resort

Spending two nights at Westwood Shores Waterfront Resort makes the perfect base site while visiting wineries near Sturgeon Bay in Wisconsin. The two-bedroom suite had all the amenities of home and a breathtaking view of Sturgeon Bay. Total relaxation is on hand at the resort. The bay is a short amble from the rooms. Many dining options are just a few miles away.
Westwood Shores is open year round. It has thirty-eight suites. There are one and two bedroom suites as well as premier one and two bedroom suites that are located closer to the bay.
The Suite
Our two-bedroom suite was spacious. The fully equipped kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. A kitchen breakfast bar with two stools separates the kitchen from the dining area. The dining room can comfortably seat four at an oak table while the living room area has two comfortable upholstered chairs and a sofa. In the living room, a small television is in a nook above the built-in fireplace. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and large bathroom with a whirlpool tub. It also has a separate shower. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed. Both bedrooms have ample closet space and dressers. There are also televisions in both bedrooms. A hallway bathroom is handicapped assessable. It features a walk-in shower with bench.
All furniture is made of oak and doors and wall trim is also oak. Kitchen cabinetry matches the oak used throughout the suite. Each room is tastefully decorated mostly with nautical themes.
One of the nicest amenities was a large deck assessable from both bedrooms and the living room. A table and five chairs were on the deck. This area has the perfect view of the bay that is a short distance away.
The Site
On the afternoon of our check-in, light flooded the suite and deck. The view was non-the less spectacular. However the morning view was better. With the sun behind you, the colors of the bay were more vivid and the calmness of the water extended a calmness to the surroundings. Two pools are available. For those cool days there is a heated indoor pool. The other outdoor pool is located within feet of Sturgeon Bay.
Five wineries are located a short distance away. The closest is in the downtown area of Sturgeon Bay. Red Oak Vineyard is only three miles from the resort on the same street. Simon Creek Vineyard & Winery and Door Peninsula Winery are close together and about twenty minutes away. Stone's Throw Winery and Orchard Country Winery are about a thirty-five minute drive.
A beautiful location on the bay and close to five wineries makes Westwood Shores an outstanding location for your lodging needs.
