Maryland
Maryland certainly lives up to the phrase "America in miniature." From the ocean to the mountains, Maryland is a land of different terroirs. Wines grown and crafted in Maryland are made from vitis vinifera grapes as well as from hybrids. Outside the city regions, Maryland has many farms. Some of these farms now have vineyards and are making wine. Just a few however, also add accommodations to there value added farming business.
There are advantages of spending evening accomodations on a winery/vineyard property. There is a certain romance associated with vineyard stays. Walking by a vineyard in the early morning provides a notion of peace and tranqulity. Lodging at a winery/vineyard often provide a base where wine travelers can have their accomodations while exploring other wineries and vineyards in the region.
