Michigan

Michigan varies from the highly populated suburbs of Detroit to back country roads with much to offer visitors who meander off the highways. If you are looking for an extraordinary destination site consider a visit to Mackinac Island and stay at the Grand Hotel. Located on a small island where cars are banned, this is a delightful location offers a slower pace of life.

Consider vacationing in Traverse City, where you will have easy access to wineries on Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsula. You may wish to stay at a bed and breakfast available at some of the nearby wineries. To be sure, there are other wineries throughout Michigan, including southwest of Detroit and along Lake Michigan that you will enjoy.

Michigan offers campgrounds, lakes and parks. Consider the outdoor activities including hiking and cross-country skiing. View gigantic sand dunes that you will never forget.

If you’re an indoor kind of person, look for museums that include Cranbrook Institute of Science, The New Detroit Science Center and Kalamazoo Institute of Art.

Detroit and its suburbs have an amazing selection of restaurants. Take time to search out some of these restaurants and if you just happened to know someone living in Detroit ask them where the best restaurants are located.
