While visiting the wineries on the Old Mission Peninsula, take an opportunity to spend the evening at Chateau Grand Traverse. The Inn offers excellent and relaxing accommodations that begin with a spacious guest room. If staying for a prolonged visit, a laundry room with washer and dryer is available for guest use. Upon entering a guest room, you will notice a view of the vineyards or Traverse Bay. Set in front of the sliding glass doors is a bottle of Chateau Grand Traverse wine and two glasses. To pair with the wine, a fruit tray awaits you in the refrigerator in the breakfast room. A seating area is just one of the many areas of the inn where you can relax. The guest rooms feature a queen size bed, two closets, and a full bath. A desk is built into a kitchenette that includes a sink, microwave and refrigerator.

Within easy access of the guest rooms is a large comfortable breakfast room offers a self-serve breakfast. Guests can prepare a variety of items from the freezer. Directions are given for heating the items in the microwave. Items include waffles, sausage biscuits, bacon and burritos. The refrigerator is well stocked with different fruit juices, eggs, bagels, yogurt and fruit. Another area of the room has an assortment of different teas, cereals and snacks. A pastry section has muffins and biscotti. A table set for eight is in the center of the room and next to a wall is a sofa where one can sit and relax.

A few steps down from the guest rooms’ area is a large lounge area on the main floor. A semi-circular couch faces a fireplace and bookshelves. This area is for relaxing and mingling with the other guests. Off the lounge is a sunroom. Nearby is the main dining room used for events. A large table in the dining room can seat sixteen people.

A stairway leads down to the lower level lounge. Two sofas and four chairs make this another place to relax. A large television is set in a console. A fireplace and bookshelves cover one wall of the room. Nearby the lower lounge there is an exercise room. Guests can choose between nine different pieces of workout equipment. Off the exercise room is a sauna.

When visiting take time to see the club room. At the base of the stairway, there is a bookcase set into the wall. The bookcase is actually a door that opens to another set of rooms. Eight tables and benches are set in a wine cellar type room. Behind iron bars a storage room houses twelve barrels and two tables with wrap around benches. A slate floor adds to the charm of this area. This is a great place to escape to, enjoy a glass of wine, and read a book.

The Chateau Grand Traverse Inn offers comfortable home like lodging. There is a wonderful view of the vineyards and bay. From this vantage point you can explore the wineries along the Old Mission Peninsula.
